This week Apple will hold a media event on Oct. 20th. Rumors are intensifying about what Apple is going to show besides OS X Lion (10.7). Yesterday we reported about a leaked photo of the insides of a 13.3-inch MacBook Air. Before that, rumors of a new 11.6-inch MacBook Air made their rounds. What we most likely will see next week are two new MacBook Air models.

Apple Insider got some more information from one of their sources about the new MacBook Air. The 11.6-inch MacBook Air is supposed to be a more aggressively priced option to the 13.3-inch MacBook Air. How big the price difference between the 11.6-inch and the 13.3-inch MacBook Air will be is unclear.

The leaked MacBook Air photo is confirmed by AppleInsider sources to be a 13.3-inch MacBook Air prototype from April. The new MacBook Air will now have a similar port layout as the MacBook Pro laptops and the so called SSD card storage option on the new MacBook Air is SATA based.

Three more short days of waiting and then we will see if Steve Jobs is really unveiling new MacBook Air laptops. Will they be as thin as an iPad? The current MacBook Air laptops start at $1,499. I hope Apple is scratching the $1,000 price point with the 11.6-inch MacBook Air.
