Dell has pulled the wraps off a new version of the Inspiron 15R notebook called the Alloy Edition. The machine gets its name from the new silver wave pattern on the lid that looks like metal. The notebook has a 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768.
CPU options are many with available Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 offerings. The Core i3 and i5 CPUs can be paired with 1066MHz RAM up to 8GB in capacity. The Core i7 CPU gets up to 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 RAM. The screen used on the notebook is LED backlit and graphics are via Intel HD standard with a Radeon HD 5650 GPU option.
The notebook has SRS Premium sound and has up to 750GB of storage in 5400 or 7200 rpm flavors. The standard optical drive is a DVD/CD burner and the machine comes with a 6-cell battery. An optional 9-cell battery and Blu-ray drive is available.
