Lenovo: No US Slate 'Till Honeycomb

And No Windows 7 slate at ALL

Bad news and good news from Lenovo today. The LePad and U1 Hybrid aren't going to hit the United States until Android Honeycomb hits, sometime between "early" next year and summer 2011. Basically, we should see a Lenovo tablet about four months after Google releases the tablet-specific version of their open-source OS.

So that's the bad news. The good news is that Lenovo will NOT be mucking around with a Windows 7 tablet for any reason whatsoever. Howard Locker, Lenovo director of new tech, stated that Windows is based on an outdated paradigm- mouse and keyboard- that is not designed to work with touch. It's nice to see that at least one manufacturer has their head on straight when it comes to Windows slates.
