Verizon Wireless and LG have announced that Verizon will be getting the new Octane phone from LG that is aimed at those that like to text a lot. The phone has a dark case and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It has a pre-installed Social Beat Widget for accessing sites like Facebook and Twitter in one place.
It has a microSD card slot supporting cards up to 16GB and it uses Bluetooth 2.1. The phone has an integrated music player and works with voice commands. A bunch of LG premium services are also supported with V Cast music and more.
The phone has shortcut keys for up to 10 contacts with pictures and customizable fonts. The device has email, Skype, visual voice mail, and a 3.2MP camera. The Octane will sell for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new 2-year agreement.
