Garmin has a line of GPS devices that are for golfers. The devices in the line right now are touchscreen GPS machines that are larger and bulkier than some might like. Garmin has announced the addition of a new and very slim device for its golf market called the Garmin Approach S1.
The S1 is a watch style GPS device that updates the golfer's location continuously to give the player exact distances to the hole on over 14,000 courses in the US and Canada. The watch gives yardage to the front, back, and the middle of greens.
The watch is waterproof and weighs only 1.8 ounces. It also has a time function and updates for time zone and time changes automatically. Power comes from an internal rechargeable battery good for three weeks in watch mode and eight hours in GPS mode.
