Avatar 3D Blu-ray is going to be released this year, but only in an exclusive bundle for Panasonic 3D TVs. Panasonic announced the availability of the Avatar 3D Blu-ray movie in special 3D packages in Europe today. Besides Avatar 3D, Panasonic also bundles Ice Age, Coraline and Paul Carrach 3D in the UK with their 3D TVs.
As reported Avatar 3D is getting a general release in 2011.

Panasonic not only seems to have the best content deal for their 3D TVs, but also the best 3D performance. Consumer Reports announced today that the Panasonic Plasma 3D TVs outperform the LCD competition.

Panasonic has so far announced the Avatar 3D Blu-ray deal in Europe. I have not found an official announcement yet for the United States. High-Def Digest reports found though material that say that the Avatar 3D Blu-ray disc promotion starts on December 1st in the US.

These exclusive 3D Blu-ray movie deals are highly controversial as they are seen to slow down the adoption or kill 3D all together.
