T-Mobile myTouch 4G TV Commercial spoofs Apple's I am a PC [Video]

T-Mobile just released a new TV commercial for the new myTouch 4G Android phone. The T-Mobile myTouch 4G is starting to ship today. Along with the myTouch 4G launch T-Mobile will run a broad advertising campaign on TV networks and web-sites. T-Mobile directly attacks the iPhone 4 and AT&T with a Apple's legendary I'm a PC ad format.

The T-Mobile ad starts with a sexy model saying "Hi, i'm a T-Mobile myTouch 4G". Than a young guy next to her carrying an old dude on his back says "And I'm an iPhone 4". The guy on his back is the "ol' AT&T network".

T-Mobile plays on the fact that you can video chat with the myTouch 4G anywhere using T-Mobile's HSPA+ network. As you know Apple's FaceTime video chat only works via Wi-Fi.

T-Mobile's HSPA+ is technically not quite 4G. WiMAX and LTE are technologies that are seen as 4G, but T-Mobile says that HSPA+ is delivering 4G speeds with a theoretical limit of 21Mbps. T-Mobile says that they have seen average download speeds approaching 5 Mbps on our myTouch 4G phone in some cities with peak speeds of nearly 12Mbps. The big advantage though of HSPA+ is its coverage. T-Mobile is supposed to reach 200 million people by the end of this year with HSPA+ service. The carrier will increase speeds of HSPA+ with in 2011 to 42Mbps theoretical speeds.

This is actually enough reason to be bold and aggressive in advertising. Watch the fun T-Mobile TV commercial below. T-Mobile describes it as iconic, arresting and memorable.
