Catch up on your favorite shows using the iPad
Catching up on the shows you missed is getting a bit easier if you have Comcast for your cable provider. The company has unveiled a new app for the iPad that will let you watch shows from all sorts of networks as well as premium cable offerings.

This is a great thing if there is a show you want to watch that you missed episodes of. The coolest part is that you can watch the shows right on your iPad. The screen on the iPad is certainly up to the task of streaming video without any issues. The app from Comcast is called Xfinity, the first version is available now, and other features will be launched in the "coming weeks."
We all know how those vague launch dates tend to go and we won't know when it will land until an official announcement is made. The app is very cool and you can watch those shows in the home or on the go as long as you have access to a broadband network. The app allows the user to watch content directly from TV listings and they can select items from the On Demand library as well.
The app can be used as a TV guide to find what you want to watch in the house and the app can also be used to program DVRs and more. The app also offers some nice sort functions for specific networks and for typos of programming like sports or kids. Users can also create a watch list for favorite programs and can share what they are watching with social networks. Comcast says that it will be launching apps for the iPhone and Android devices this year as well.

The first version of the app will land this week minus a few features that will come later. The ability to watch away from the home on the iPad will hit in December. The My TV feature and social network sharing will come later at an unspecified date.
