Google launched today a fashion shop called Boutiques. You read correctly. Google is going to sell you clothes. 18 month ago Google bought like.com. People from that team along with PhDs in computer science with an emphasis on machine learning and computer vision and fashion designers develop a new way to shop fashion.
Boutiques.com is a personalized shopping experience that lets you find and discover fashion goods, by creating your own curated boutique or through a collection of boutiques curated by taste-makers—celebrities, stylists, designers and fashion bloggers. Boutiques uses computer vision and machine learning technology to visually analyze your taste and match it to items you would like.
You can tune an trends, styles and into celebrity styles. The system finds the pieces matching your choices. Most clothes are for women. I only found a few pieces for guys.
Best way to figure out if Boutiques works as well as it sounds is to try it out. Visit Boutiques for some high-tech fashion shopping now.
