Today I am looking at a set of headphones from v-Jays called the Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones. If you are like me and want bass in your music and your movies these headphones might be perfect for you. If you want to know if the headphones actually live up to their name, read on to find out more about the v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones.

Specifications

The v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones use 40mm dynamic open drivers, the frequency response is 25 to 20000Hz and the sensitivity is 98 dB SPL. The headphones weigh 59 grams, fold, and have a 3.5mm headphone plug with an extension cable. The cord is 23.5" long and the extension is another 27.5" long. The headphones are available to purchase right now.

In Use

The v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones are a very small set of headphones that sit on your ears. They have foam ear pads that are very soft and comfortable. You can wear the headphones for a long time in comfort thanks to the soft foam ear pads. The v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones also ship with a second set of the ear pads in case the original pads get damaged.

The v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones have a folding design that makes them very easy to store and take with you on the road. They are black and the cable without the extension is very short. With the built-in cable alone I could not comfortably put my iPhone 4 in my pocket and wear the headphones I had to use the extra extension, which makes the length of the headphone cable just about perfect for me.

Looks and comfort aside, the sound is what will be most important and these things really live up to the product name. When you call a set of headphones the v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones, they had better have some bass to them. These things certainly do! The bass is very heavy making these the most bass heavy set of headphones I have tried. Generally, to get this sort of bass you have to use in-ear earphones that lock the bass into the ear canal.

The bass on my favorite "How Low" test track by Ludacris was deep and low with great sound. Despite the deep bass, I could still clearly hear the lyrics, mids, and high range sounds. The headphones were great overall and you get tons of bass, but also you get a very nuanced track letting you hear all the little parts of the song that an enthusiast wants to hear. You can hear the fingers sliding across the guitar strings in tracks with lots of instruments and you hear the little things that get lost on headphones with less clarity.

I was very impressed b the weight of these headphones too. They are so light considering the sound quality and the on the ear design that you forget you have them on. A version of these headphones with a mic and controls for the iPhone is supposed to be landing soon. The lack of call capabilities and a control for tracks on my iPhone is the only things the v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones are lacking.

Verdict

Pros

  • Bass, Bass, Bass
  • Very comfortable
  • Folds for storage

Cons

  • No remote for track control

Conclusion

If you aren’t a fan of ear buds, want deep bass, good looks, and comfort in a set of headphones, the v-Jays Heavy Bass Speaker Headphones are a winner.
