Last night the news broke that Google planned to add a 'related' app tab to the Android Market in 2.3 Gingerbread. A voice search result outed the feature, but gave us little idea about what exactly it would do.

This morning Android users noticed that a tiny update to the Market had already been applied. Next to the 'About' and 'Comments' tabs on an app page is now a 'Similar' app list. So if you're trying to find the best media player or fart app, you'll be instantly given other options.

And we aren't just talking about other apps that provide the same purpose. Going to the Google Goggle's app page brings the G2 Google Goggle's Remover up, along with a Beer Goggles app. This new feature is not yet live for everyone. At least, it isn't live for me yet. We're likely to see this change roll out gradually over the next few days.

This sounds like another incremental (but positive) move towards making the App Market more pleasant to use. Most Android users are probably used to the annoyance of needing to seek out and try three or four different apps before finding the one that works tolerably enough to keep. It's wonderful that this process will now be easier, but it would be even MORE wonderful if so many of the Market's 100,000 apps weren't bunk.

Also in Android App news, Gameloft is doing a promotional Christmas game giveaway. Right now they are handing out free copies of Dungeon Hunter to anyone who visits this link:

Every day until Christmas, Gameloft will have a new gift for everyone who visits their feed at
