Today I am going to look at a new case for the iPhone 4 from iFrogz called the Soft Gloss Phase. This case is available for other smartphones as well. The iFrogz Soft Gloss Phase is a really cool case that has an interesting design that iPhone 4 users will like. Read on for all of the details on the iFrogz Soft Gloss Phase.

The iFrogz Soft Gloss Phase is made from a soft and pliable TPU material that fits snugly and will provide some much needed protection for your iPhone 4. All of the ports and controls of the iPhone 4 are left open when the case is installed.

In Use

The iFrogz Soft Gloss Phase is made for the same material and has a very similar design as the original iFrogz Soft Gloss case. The difference between the Phase and the original is that the Phase has a solid color on the bottom of the case that fades to clear towards the top of the case. The painted effect gives your iPhone a cool graduated paint effect. My review unit is silver and the color just about matches the sides of the iPhone 4. It looks cool fading from silver to black towards the top on my black iPhone 4.

The case has dots of different sizes arranged in concentric rings that radiate out from the Apple logo on your device. You can get the case in silver, which is what I tested, pink, and a light blue color. The paint is opaque so you can see thought the painted section to the Apple labels on the bottom of the rear of the phone.

The edges of the case are built-up to help prevent screen scratches when you lay the phone on its screen. No scratch protection is included for the screen though so you will want to add a protective film of some sort. The case is cool but the design even in silver looks a bit girly to me. If you get the blue or pink version of the case, they are decidedly female looking to my eyes and my wife's.

The plastic the case is made of is about as pliable as your typical silicone sleeve and should provide a decent amount of impact absorption if you drop your iPhone 4. That external protection is important, you can break the front and back of the iPhone 4 thanks to the glass used. If you like the case you can order one in any of the three colors right now for $24.99. If you like the style, the case is very nice.
