We have updates for two of our big stories. First off, the pre-ordering for Notion Ink's Adam tablet will not get it to your door before Christmas. It will arrive during CES 2011, though. SlashGear reports that they have spoken to CEO Rohan Shravan and received the official ship date.
Based on this, the Adam will hit early adopters between January 6 and January 9. I wonder if DHL will ship packages right to your hotel room door?
Next, we have what is supposedly a leaked case for the iPad 2. It comes from Shenzhen MacTop Electronics and is apparently larger than 12". The minimum order qualtity is 1000, and the given color is pink. There is a hole at the top, apparently for the rear-facing camera.
Other pictures of the case have been spotted. At least one supposedly packs an SD card slot. That may be for faster photo transfer, or Apple may just be giving up the fight and siding with expandable storage. It is more likely that the "SD slot" rumors simply won't pan out, but we'll see in February.
On to breaking tablet rumors. The million-selling Galaxy Tab is due for a sequel next year. If GizmoCrunch (via Blogeee) is to be believed, Samsung plans to launch a 10" Tab in April 2011. This new slate will pack a sliding keyboard.
The early renders of this tablet all look extremely cumbersome. One rumor gives it a BlackBerry Torch style keyboard, while Engadget feels the HTC Touch Pro would be a more practical device to emulate. Either way, the new Tab sounds kind of hot. And kind of weird.
