Retro looks with modern sound

Tell me you have some retro 80's gear and I will be looking for big, wood-grained electronics with analog gauges and poor performance. When Onkyo tells you it has some retro themed gears for audiophiles you can bet that the retro touches will be tempered with style and performance.

Onkyo has unveiled a new power amp called the M-5000R that has 80W of power to 8-ohm speakers and 450W to 1-ohm speakers. The amp is made with all sorts of high-end components inside and designed for the best playback possible. The retro theme of the amp comes in the two big analog gauges on the front.

The other audio gear includes a P-3000R pre-amp with USB input and a 32-bit Burr-Brown DAC. The design of the pre-amp is to eliminate jittering and other interference. The final product is the C-7000R CD player with a silent disc mechanism and an aluminum CD tray. The amp will sell for $2499, the pre-amp will cost $1699, and the CD player is $1499.
