Well, no one really uses tape anymore. So it'd be more accurate to say, "caught on .avi file" or "caught in a bunch of zeroes and ones". But the point remains the same. Toshiba brought out their new, upcoming tablet last night- and I had a chance to fiddle with it.
We're looking at Android Honeycomb and a launch in Spring of 2011. The display is 10.1" and the resolution is 1280x800. It has a Tegra 2 processor and an accelerometer, GPS, 2 MP front webcam and 5 MP rear webcam. There is a full SD slot, mini USB port, HDMI port, and a full-sized USB port. Toshiba is aiming at a 7 hour battery.
Pricing isn't set yet, and Toshiba has "no firm plans" for 3G. The tablet has a nice, rubbery back that grips well. It feels good in your hands, and noticeably lighter than Motorola's XOOM. I played around with it a bit, and responsiveness was very good. Apps opened and switched quickly and the live background didn't seem to cause that Tegra 2 processor any trouble.
