One step closer to the Smart Home
You're out of the house for a night or two, and your beloved pet is left at home. Right after you leave, a cold front blows into town. You left the heater off, but now you're afraid your cat/dog/hippo will freeze to death in the newly-chilly weather. Thanks to Thrane, this nightmare has a (moderately expensive) solution.
The new Smart Thermostat is a handsome 7" tablet that gives you total control over your home's heating and cooling. It can even measure your air quality and let you know when it's time to change your home filters. You can schedule your heating and cooling several days in advance, to minimize costs and maximize comfort.
You'll also be able to see a five-day weather forecast, so you can plan your home's heating and cooling accordingly. For now, control of the Smart Thermostat can only be done in the home from Thrane's slate or your PC. I asked the PR rep if Android or iOS apps were in the offing, and he (very carefully) said that something like that could come in the future.
