Radio Shack has announced that it is now offering the Evo Shift 4G smartphone for sale in its stores. The smartphone was announce at CES last week and is available for new and upgrade customers on the Sprint network for $149.99.
If you missed the device when it was unveiled, it has a 3.6-inch touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a 5MP camera that can record 720p HD video. It can also be used as a 3G/4G hotspot for up to eight devices at once time.
That $149.99 price includes a new 2-year contract activation. If you want the phone sans contract it will set you back $449.99. The OS for the smartphone is Android 2.2. “We’re excited to continue the momentum established by the HTC EVO 4G by introducing the HTC EVO Shift 4G,” says Daniel Liberman, Senior Vice President for Mobility at RadioShack. “Over the last year we’ve seen how 4G can transform the lives of wireless customers, and by bringing the HTC EVO Shift 4G to The Shack, we look forward to sharing this high-speed and user-friendly experience with even more smartphone users.”
