Verizon announced today the long rumored Verizon iPhone 4. Apple had to make a special version for Verizon as they run a CDMA network. For end users that does not matter. Verizon has though decided to add one feature AT&T is not offering on the iPhone 4 - Mobile hotspot. As you can with Droid phones you will be able to share the 3G connection of the iPhone via Wi-Fi with up to five devices.
The support of the mobile hotspot feature on the iPhone is another blow to Android. How hard Android smartphone sales will be hurt on Verizon remains to be seen.
The Verizon Phone 4 will be available on the Verizon Wireless network beginning Thursday, February 10 for a suggested retail price of $199.99 for the 16GB model and $299.99 for the 32GB model with a new two year customer agreement.
More details about the Verizon iPhone announcement can be found in our previous report.
