Among the new Blu-ray players that Sony unveiled at CES was the BDP-S780 that will land in April 2011 and sell for $250. The player has a lot of cool and interesting integrated features to make it a welcome addition to your home theater.
The player has 802.11n WiFi built-in to allow it to access BD-Live functionality and the device is HomeShare WiFi Network speaker compatible as well. The device can upconvert 2D to 3D and uses special technology to ensure high quality playback.
The player is also compatible with DVDs, CDs, and SACDs. The WiFi connection supports WPS and the device has Skype embedded and a front USB port. The player can be controlled by smartphones using free apps available for various devices like the iPhone and Android smartphones.
