BGR formerly known as Boy Genius Report is on a roll again like in the old days. Yesterday BGR published images and specifications of three upcoming new BlackBerry phones. Among them is a new BlackBerry Dakota. The BlackBerry Dakota is going to be the new flagship BlackBerry phone. All three unannounced new BlackBerry phones will feature Near Field Communication (NFC).
The new BlackBerry Dakota will feature a 2.8-inch VGA screen, Tri-Band UMTS, 768MB RAM, 4GB storage, NFC, GPS, Magnetometer, WiFi 802.11n (2.4Ghz and 5GHz) and 5MP camera with HD recording. The new BlackBerry Dakota is 10.5mm thin.
BGR did not publish a release date for the new Dakota. The BlackBerry Torch 2 is supposed to ship in Q3 2011. This leaked Dakota also might be from the fall BlackBerry line-up.
