The new iPad's display may have been leaked by parts supplier Global Direct Parts. As MacRumors notes, these are the same folks who leaked out the Verizon iPhone before its launch (they thought it was the iPhone 5). It has a list price of $218, which is a big bump over the old price of $145.
Could this be proof that the iPad will have a near-retinal display? Is a 2048x1536 resolution display worth the price bump we're likely to see?
The Parts Supplier also notes the presence of an iPad Vibrating Motor. Nothing else is known about this mysterious part. It may simply be mislabeled. Or we could see the next iPad launch with some sort of vibration feedback. Maybe for gaming? Or for some new sort of gesture-command?
A white iPad is also seen on the display patch- apparently a stock concept image of one. Given the white iPhone's many issues I sorta doubt this one.
The iPad is also rumored to have a next-gen A5 multicore processor, as well as front/rear-facing cameras and an SD slot. The iPad 2's graphics chip is believed to be the SGX543, which would deliver roughly twice as much power as the current iPad's graphics core.
All in all, the iPad 2 is shaping up to be one unholy beast of a machine.
