The car business is turning around a bit as the economy improves. GM has announced that it shipped more than 8.38 million vehicles in 2010, which is an increase of 12.2% from 2009. The improvement is nice to see considering how close GM came to going under when the economy was really bad.
Interestingly, China was the top market for GM in 2010 with 2.35 million vehicles sold. The US slipped to the second place spot for GM with 2.215 million vehicles shipped. Rounding out the top five markets are Brazil, UK, and Germany.
The top brands for GM were Chevrolet, Opel/Vauxhall, Wuling, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Holden, Daewoo, and Jiefang. I had no idea that GM owned some of those companies.
