Today I am going to check out the XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4. The silicone case is a slim fitting protective shell for your AT&T iPhone 4 that is worth a look if you want silicone case protection and a slim fit. Read on for all for the details on the XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4.

Specifications

The XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4 is made from silicone and protects the iPhone 4 from drops and scratches. The case covers the back and leaves full access to controls. You can get the XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4 in black, blue, pink, or green colors for $19.99.

In Use

The variety of cases for the iPhone 4 on the market is staggering. You can find a case to suit just about any need you want. One of my biggest pet peeves about cases for the iPhone 4 are those that add bulk and make the phone hard to get in and out of my pocket.

I have reviewed the Tuffwrap for the iPad previously and really liked the case and was excited to see the iPhone 4 version of the case come across my desk. The thing I like best about my black review sample is that it adds very little bulk to the iPhone. The device is still very thin and while the case adds a bit of texture and grip to the slippery iPhone 4, it still comes in and out of a pocket easily.

The XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4 also ships with a screen protector for the screen of the iPhone 4 that goes on easily and works well. All of the controls and ports of the iPhone are accessible. The charge and sync port is uncovered altogether as is the headphone port. The mute switch on the side of the phone is also left uncovered. The volume buttons and the screen lock button on top are covered in thin silicone material, but are easy to use and responsive.

I am glad to see that XtremeMac made the case snug enough that it stays on the iPhone 4 without any issues, but not so snug that the case activates the volume buttons. I have had other cases do that so each time I got the phone out it was turned either all the way up or all the way down. That can get very annoying.

The XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4 sells for $19.99 making it a reasonably priced case in a world of accessories that can run $30 and up. You can choose from different colors and you can even get a two-tone version for a bit more if you want. This case will not fit the iPhone 4 coming to Verizon.

Verdict

Pros

  • Easy to install
  • Looks good
  • Little bulk

Cons

  • Won't fit Verizon iPhone

Conclusion

The XtremeMac Tuffwrap for iPhone 4 is a very nice case for the person wanting minimalist protection without adding a ton of bulk.
