The problems that Toyota had last year with sticking accelerators and recalls are legendary and most probably thought 2011 would see recalls from Toyota stop. That's not the case with Toyota announcing a new recall that has been issued on certain Lexus models.
The recall covers approximately 245,000 2006 through 2007 Lexus GS 300/350, 2006 through early 2009 Lexus IS 250, and 2006 through early 2008 Lexus IS 350 vehicles sold in the U.S. The recall will have Toyota inspecting the fuel pressure sensor installation.
The problem is that the sensor can loosen up in some vehicles and lead to fuel leaking out of the lines. Toyota isn’t specific about where the sensor is located, but if it's under the hood raw fuel and hot engines are a combination for disaster. Lexus dealers will inspect the sensor and tighten it or replace it as needed.
