Dolby Laboratories sees the need to connect more with consumers. According to Brandweek, Dolby has hired the original Batman from the 1960 TV series for a social media campaign. Adam West will be an integral part of the Dolby Update Theater, which will launch on Feb. 18.
The Dolby Update Theater lets members of the Dolby Facebook community submit status updates. The most creative entries will be read by Adam West. I am not sure if he will be wearing his Batman outfit while reading. Adam West is already 82, but has apparently not retired yet.
Dolby is a household name. Almost all home theater components have Dolby printed on it. What Dolby does is I guess less known among consumers. If Batman can change that remains to be seen. See also the Dolby site.
