This is crazy. Verizon just announced that the iPhone broke the Verizon launch day sales record for any phone in the first two hours. Mind you that the Verizon iPhone was only available for existing customers and the sale launch in the middle of the night. Customers stayed up or got up early at 3am to secure their iPhone.  The Verizon iPhone will be available for all on Feb. 9 at 3:01am EST online. Now we can estimate that Verizon has sold out a reasonable high number of iPhones in the first 24 hours.

Now I am pretty sure that Android Phones will see a slow-down in sales. Verizon was the major sales driver for Android phones in the United States. Now that Verizon customers have the iPhone choice things will change.

Apple just can lean back and smile on the way to the bank. Especially as Apple is expected to release an iPhone 5 in 2 to 3 month. I imagine that there are still Verizon customers that hold back on the iPhone purchase because of the upcoming new iPhone 5. I know, I would wait.
