Onkyo has unveiled three new AV receivers that include the 7.2-channel TX-NR609, the 5.1-channel TX-NR509 and the 5.1-channel TX-SR309. The receivers are all Made for iPhone certified and the two TX-NR receivers are both network ready with wireless connectivity.
The trio has front USB ports as well. The 609 has support for 3D video, HDMI thru, and audio return channel. The last feature lets content from the HDTV tuner to be sent upstream without needing another HDMI cable. The new models support Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding.
The 609 also has Marvell Qdeo for upscaling video and has six HDMI inputs and support for a second audio zone. The 509 has four HDMI ports and Audyssey DSX tech. The 309 has three HDMI inputs and more. The three receivers will ship in April with the 609 at $599, the 509 at $399, and the 309 at $299.
