Antec has unveiled a new set of speakers that will work for computers or can be hooked to a game console as well. The new speakers are called the rockus and have a powered sub and a pair of satellites. Antec makes all sorts of computer gear including some really nice cases and computer power supplies among other things.
The new rockus speakers use 3Dsst DSP audio technology to make virtual surround sound to give more immersion for a smaller and less bulky speaker set. The DSP also has modes for different types of uses like gaming and movies. The satellites are made from anodized aluminum for clarity and reduced vibration.
The total power output is 150W with each satellite getting 25W of power and the sub getting 100W. The speakers have a single optical input to allow connectivity from game consoles and other devices with optical audio out. The speakers have a frequency response of 10hz to 20kHz and are shipping right now for $249.99.
