I hate mowing the lawn in the summer in Texas. It's too hot for sane folks to be outside with a heat index in the 110 range for much of the summer around here. What I would really like is a robot that can just cruise around my yard and mow it for me. Husqvarna has just the device for you if your yard is small enough and your wallet fat enough.
The robotic lawn mower is called the Automower 305 and it runs off battery power with a 40 minute mowing time. A full recharge takes 150 minutes and the device can mow an area up to 500m2. That's not that large of a yard, the thing is aimed at folks that live in condos.
It has a PIN pad, alarm and will not work if it is stolen. The user devices the area for the 305 to mow using included wire and staples. The mower sells for 1490 EUR. I wish it would do yards over a half acre. Just looking at the design, I would bet the yard needs to be flat too.
