New images of what may be the next iPad have just leaked out, courtesy of a Japanese blog. These mock-ups are supposedly very close to how the iPad 2 will look at launch. This new tablet is significantly smaller than the current iPad, with sharper corners and a more angled back. A rear and front-facing camera is visible.
This new iPad is noticeably thinner than the last model, and it has a speaker grate on the lower right hand corner of the body. The back is shaped differently too. It is very flat, with the sides tapering down to the bezel. All in all, the iPad 2 looks like it will be a more angular and businesslike tablet than the first generation model.
The iPad 2 launch event will be next week, March 2. Its proximity makes these images more likely to be legitimate. We've already seen the new MacBook Pro leak out a day ahead of its launch event. It could be Apple has a leak (or some loose lips) somewhere in-shop.
