iPad to control DirecTV DVRs
I have DirecTV in my home and I use the iPhone all the time to find shows that I want to watch and set recordings. I also generally order all of my PPV movies and events using the app too. DirecTV has announced that it has a new app for the iPad coming soon.

The new app will allow the user to find all sorts of TV content to view and they will be able to browse shows, movies, and sports. The app will also give the user all of the buttons they know from the normal DirecTV remote control so you can pause, rewind, and play content right from the iPad app.

The home screen of the app is customizable to get instant access to the user's favorite content. The app can set the DVR to record programs and lots more. The iPad app will make the tablet into a full remote control for the DirecTV DVR. The app will require DVRs HR20, HR21, HR22, HR23, HR24 and H21, H23, H24 and no broadband connection is needed for setting recordings, but other features require broadband.
