Active Media Products has pulled the wraps off a new SSD that is called the Predator V3. The new SSD uses the 6Gbps SATA-III interface and runs the Marvell Van Gogh 88SS9174 SATA-III controller. The SSD promises some very impressive performance.
The data transfer speeds are up to 410MB/s and has 20,000 IOPS of random read and write performance. The SSD will work in a SATA-II port, but works best in a SATA-III port. The SSD is a 2.5-inch form factor device and has 128MB DDR3 DRAM cache.
The SSD uses MLC NAND inside for high performance and reliability. The drive has ECC for reliability in the service environment and more. The drive also uses wear leveling to keep it working for longer and will come in up to 128GB capacity. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
