Mercedes-Benz Shows Off Sweet New Rides in Geneva
New features and cars debut in Geneva

Mercedes is on hand at the Geneva Auto Show for 2011 with several new 2012 model Mercedes cars. The main attraction at the display for MB in Geneva will be the world premiere of the 2012 C-class coupe. The unveiling of the car marks the first foray for Mercedes into the coupe segment with the C-class.
The full line of C-class cars for 2012 will hit dealers in the US this summer and the SLK-class line will land in June. The new C-class coupe has a three-box design with a long hood, raked windshield, and a sloping roof. The greenhouse extends over the rear axle to make the rear of the car shorter and more aggressive looking.
"By extending the C-Class portfolio, we are consciously targeting new customers," says Dr. Joachim Schmidt, Head of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars. "The new model is youthful, stylish and expressive. What we are offering is an exceptionally sporty way to enter the world of the Mercedes-Benz coupe."
The C250 gets aluminum trim and the C350 gets Burl Walnut and an Ash Olive matte wood Trim is an option. The C-class gets two engine options and both have a 7-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes is also showing off the C63 AMG performance vehicle with a new radiator grill and a new AMG front apron. The car has an AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed transmission with four driving modes. The AMG 6.3-liter V8 makes 451hp and can be increased further to 481hp with an optional, AMG Development package.
That Development package allows the car to hit 60mph in 4.3 seconds. The package also has forged pistons, a lightweight rotating assembly, and a higher performance brake system. It also adds a carbon fiber spoiler lip on the trunk along with a premium AMG steering wheel.
Mercedes has the new SLK at the show as well. The SLK is a roadster with a retractable hard top with cool Magic Sky Control technology inside. The top can be changed between light and dark transparency at the touch of a button, the SLK can be had with 4 and 6-cylinder engines. The Magic Sky control is an option. The roof come standard painted the color of the car and another option is a glass roof with dark-tinted glass.
