With the exception of gaming keyboards, the ubiquitous keyboard really hasn't changed all that much over the years. Newer models may have a couple extra buttons and the like, but the last BIG change was probably the development of wireless keyboards. Even then, their bulky size and less-than-stellar range were not exactly something to write home about! In fact, finding the "perfect" wireless keyboard that can be equally comfortable in a SOHO environment as it can in Home Theater PC environment has been all but impossible.
It appears that some bright engineer over at Logitech must have been on the same quest. The end result is the all new Logitech K800 wireless illuminated keyboard. On the surface, the K800 appears to be nothing more than this years refresh of their wired Illuminated Keyboard. This actually wouldn't be giving the K800 and the engineering wizards behind it their due credit; as this bad boy is not only wireless, with sensor based on/off key illumination, easily replaceable AA batteries, but it ALSO has keys designed differently than most people are used to. The keys literally look and feel like little used bars of soap, with no sharp edges and everything has gracefully smooth curves that guide your fingers into proper position! It will take a couple of days to get used to the feel of these new keys, and some may never, but one thing is for certain, for MANY people their search for the perfect wireless keyboard may in fact be OVER! Everything USB has the full Logitech K800 Wireless Keyboard review.
