The iPad 2 doesn't launch until Friday, but the first wave of cases are already on their way. Gear4 has just sent out press releases announcing their new line of fifteen new iPad 2 cases. Three of those cases are themed after the world's most popular avian rage-based game, Angry Birds. Fans will be able to choose from Red Bird, Family Shot or Pig King vs. Red Bird. Each polycarbonate case is £39.99.
Next, we've got the IceBox Edge, which protects your new tablet's side and back comes in five colors, including hot pink and jet black. The Edge will set you back £29.99, and you can slap a ScreenShield on there for full coverage for another £19.99.
Gear4 has also included something for gamers. The GamingGrip case has been specially shaped to "enhance the player's gaming experience and technique". Frankly, I have no idea what that means. I'd guess they've shaved down the case in the areas where players tend to rest their wrists or spin the tablet around a lot. Whatever they've done, it is apparently worth £24.99.
Those of you looking to really keep your iPad locked in a bubble of safety may want to take a look at the Jumpsuit collection. These range from £19.99-£24.99 and offer "shockproof" protection from drops and falls and rubberized casing.
Last, we have the WrapStand and Folio Stand. The first is a hard tablet-holder built for your car. Gear4 claims that it is perfect for using your iPad as an e-reader or media player on long commutes. Which I'd imagine is true, if you don't care too much about the occasional fender bender. Then we have the Folio, which has "leather effect" printing and a built-in business card holder. The WrapStand is £39.99 and the Folio Stand is £39.99.
Gear4 has yet to place up any images for these cases, but we will update when the company sends out the promised press images.
