If I had to sit back and make up a list of some of my favorite video games from over the years, the original. Deus Ex would certainly be on that list. I loved that game with the ability to tweak your character with augmentations and updates, it rocked.
The latest game in the franchise has been given a launch date. Deus Ex: Human Revolution will hit stores on August 23. The game is an action RPG that puts players in a hybrid, open-ended game. The game will be offered the PS3 and Xbox according to the official press releases, but the official game site shows that it will come for PC gamers as well.
"We are extremely excited and proud of DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION and cannot wait to finally let gamers experience this unique and captivating game," said Stephane D'Astous, general manager of Eidos-Montreal. "The team has worked incredibly hard these last few years to create an unforgettable universe which introduces franchise fans and new players alike to this powerful vision of the future, where the choices you make create your own personal gameplay experience."
The game follows Adam Jensen, a dude that was enhanced against his will. The game will allow the player to play in different ways. The game will come in an Augmented Edition that adds exclusive missions, 10,000 extra credits to buy and upgrade weapons, a Huntsman silverback shotgun, SERSR Longsword silenced sniper rifle, and a multiple shot grenade launched as well as other exclusive weapons. This version of the game also comes with a bonus DVD that shows behinds the scenes of the making of the game and offers the game sound track.
The hybrid game play fuses the RPG and action elements and the puzzles and tasks in the game will have multiple solutions. You can also explore the game world. The thing sounds really cool and I want it. The Augmented Version will sell for $69.99 and the normal version will be $59.99. "The DEUS EX video game franchise fundamentally altered our expectations for shooters and RPGs, and we are thrilled to continue and extend that powerful legacy with the release of DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION this August," said Mike Fischer, president and chief executive officer, Square Enix, Inc. "This game vividly demonstrates Square Enix's commitment to deliver innovative and unique gameplay experiences that set new standards for quality. We are excited that the first game from our Eidos-Montreal studio is another groundbreaking entry into this legendary franchise."
