Appleconfirmed this week that they will go ahead with the international launch of the iPad 2 tomorrow. Despite extreme availability issues in the United States. There is some easing as the Apple Online Store just revised the estimated shipping dates to 3-4 weeks instead of 4-5 weeks - Hurray! I am located in Germany and I was dealing with Apple online sales in the last two weeks to see about getting an iPad 2 at launch.
In my latest conversation I got an interesting comment. My iPad 2 order might ship in 2 to 3 weeks and not right away. This of course raises suspicion. Does Apple actually only have a small quantity of in-store iPad 2 inventory to be able to say the iPad 2 is launching? Is there actually no online store inventory allocated for Europe? Are European online customers waiting just as long as in the United States? And why not. All iPads come directly from China anyway.
I will be up at 1am tomorrow trying to order an iPad 2 online. Let's see what the shipping estimate will say.
Apple will open the in-store iPad 2 sale tomorrow at 5pm.

Sears Black Friday

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
