Shelby American and Carroll Shelby have been taking already cool and fast cars and making them even faster and cooler for a long time. Shelby hasn’t always worked with Ford, but he is certainly most well known of the Shelby Mustangs of the 60's and the Shelby's of the late model Mustangs that have been offered for several model years.
Shelby American has announced that it will be unveiling the new 2012 Super Snake conversion from the 2012 Shelby GT500 Mustang. Shelby is also making the equally awesome 2012 GT350. The car that will be seen for the first time at the show in New York will be sporting 800HP making it the most powerful American Muscle car at the show and one of the most powerful cars you will find anywhere.
“Shelby American has a rich history at the New York International Auto Show,” said John Luft, president of Shelby American Inc. “The very first Shelby car was introduced there in 1962, as well as the 1968 and 2008 Shelby GT500KR and the 2006 Shelby Hertz GT-H. This year, we’re returning with one of the most powerful and important Shelby's ever built.”
The new 2012 Super Snake vehicles will start being delivered to customers on May 1, 2011. The new car will have the option to hit 800HP on pump gas and is available in a version that still carriers a factory warranty with 600HP. The 800HP version has no warranty. The Super Snake starts under $100,000 putting it in super car territory at a fraction of the cost of most super cars.
