If you have a TV that you really like or you simply don’t want to pay what it costs to buy a new TV, but you want to get Smart TV functionality onto your existing set you can do that. What you need is a Blu-ray player like the Samsung BD-D7500 with Samsung Smart TV. This device brings the wonders of the Samsung Smart TV platform to any TV or projector regardless of the brand.
This very cool looking Blu-ray player is designed to be very slim and fit easily into a crowded entertainment center. The player sells for about $350 and has support for just about everything that you could want. The player supports 3D Blu-ray films if you have a 3D ready TV. It you don't have a 3D ready TV it will also play normal DVDs and Blu-ray movies as well. The cool slim design of the player puts the disc opening on the what would normally be the side of a Blu-ray player to make the device as narrow as possible. It has integrated WiFi to allow you to connect to your home wireless network. That WiFi connection will also enable the extras that some Blu-rays need to get online to access.
The player supports all the HD audio formats that go along with HD video. It supports Dolby Digital TrueHD, DTS Master Audio and supports 7.1 surround sound. The player can be hung on a wall too if your TV is wall mounted and you have no entertainment system. The D7500 measures 6.2" x 15" x 1.1" and weighs 2.2 pounds.
The Samsung Smart TV support means that you can use the D7500 to steam video from the web using Hulu Plus, Netflix, YouTube and more. You can also stream internet radio, access the internet on your TV, and access lots more content online and via apps that Samsung offers. If you have no wireless network in your home the D7500 also has a wired Ethernet port. It also has USB ports for viewing content from a flash drive or external HDD.
