Origin PC Overclocks Eon17-S Notebook to 4.5GHz

When it comes to getting a new gaming notebook or desktop computer, gamers always want more of everything. We want faster processor, faster graphics, cards, faster RAM, and lots more. Sometimes the fastest products you can buy just aren’t fast enough so we need to soup the machine up a bit with some overclocking on the parts that need it.

It’s common today for manufacturers to sell notebooks and desktops that have CPUs and GPUs that are overclocked form the factory. How fast they are able to make those processors run is a function of how well they can cool them among other things. Origin PC has announced that is going to be offering a new gaming notebook that has the world's highest mobile processor clock speed. The notebook packs in an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor.

If the buyer opts for the Core i7 Extreme Edition processor Origin can overclock that CPU to a blazing fast 4.5GHz with turbo boost. It's impressive that the processor can be overclocked like that and still be offered for retail sale. Other than the blazing fast CPU, the machine also has a NVIDIA GTX 460 or GTX 485 GPU inside and a 17.3-inch screen.

The screen has a 1920 x 1080 resolution supporting full 1080p. There are four RAM slots inside the machine that will hold up to 32GB. The machine has a Blu-ray player inside and can be fitted with hybrid and SSD storage options with RAID capability. It has a full size keyboard and a keypad too. It also packing in HDMI output and lots more. Pricing and availability are unknown right now.

“The EON17-S laptops are remarkably portable and with 2nd generation Intel processors overclocked to 4.5GHz, they are the fastest ORIGIN laptops ever built on an Intel mobile platform” said Kevin Wasielewski ORIGIN CEO and co-founder.
