If you have had your eyes on the new Acer Iconia Android tablet for your gadget collection since it was first spied back during CES, the time to buy the thing is here. The tablet is now on the Best Buy website and you can pick one up for $449.99.
As of right now the Iconia Tablet is in stock and ready to ship. The machine has a 10.1-inch screen, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA Tegra Processor. The battery inside is a lithium polymer unit and it has an AC adapter and a dust resistant bag that ships with it.
Other hardware specs include 1GB of RAM, a 2MP webcam, a media card reader for microSD cards. It has 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, and a USB 2.0port for shooting the video and audio from the device out. The operating system is Android 3.0. This should make for a very nice little tablet for someone looking for a machine in the price range of the basic iPad.
The Iconia measures 0.5" thick, 10.2" wide, and 7" deep and it weighs 1.7 pounds. Acer claims that the tablet is good for up to eight hours of use per charge. The 1GHz Tegra processor should make this thing perform well and the 10.1-inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 800.
