The white iPhone 4 is expected to be announced today by Apple. This could be wrong though as word comes from Japan that the white iPhone 4 will launch there on Thursday April 28th. MacRumors received a photo of a store display found in a Softbank carrier shop. The photo shows the white iPhone and the April 28th release date.
As reported some lucky customers in Europe already got a white iPhone 4 yesterday from stores that jumped the gun. We also posted the first unboxing video of a white iPhone 4 earlier today. The April 27 release date has leaked via a Best Buy inventory lookup. The Apple Store has not been down this morning, which can be seen as evidence that Apple is not releasing the white iPhone 4 today.
Apple has only confirmed a Spring release date for the white iPhone and not any specific date. The odds are still good for a release today, but the news from Japan could mean that you have to wait one more day for the white iPhone.
