We already reported last week that Apple has started testing apps on iOS 5. These reports intensify and new logs show that Apple tests iOS 5 on iPad, 2, iPod touch, iPhone 4 and also iPhone 3GS. According to 9to5Mac these tests precede a developer release by a few months.
Apple is expected to unveil iOS 5 details at the WWDC 2011 in June along with maybe a beta release for developers. There are still no details on what iOS 5 will bring to the table. Most new features are expected to be around the rumored Apple cloud service aka iCloud. The iCloud is expected to offer iTunes music locker along with integration of the mobileMe functionality and more.
The race for the consumer cloud is on. There are individual cloud based functions available from different vendors, like DropBox. What we really need is one simple service that does it all - tightly integrated into the OS. Let's see who will do the better job at this: Google or Apple.
