Peugeot EX1 EV Concept Sets EV Record at Nurburgring

If you are into green and EV vehicles, but you like performance too the best-looking and performing car that has been available for consumers for a while has been the Tesla Roadster. If you have a soft spot in your heart for concept cars that also happen to be electric racing cars Peugeot has an awesome new EX1 that is the best looking electric car ever.

Not only is thing car green and battery powered, it's fast too. The car already has a number of speed records to its name and it has now crushed the EV record at the hallowed Nurburgring race circuit. This is the circuit where many of Europe's top automakers come to test their car's mettle in a race around the long, fast, and grueling track.

The EX1 made a complete lap around the track in 9:01.338. To put a little context on that time, that is a full 50 seconds faster than the previous EV record lap. The EX1 is a four-wheel drive vehicle and it averaged 85mph during its run. The EV has a total of 340hp.

My Take: This is one seriously bad ass EV and it proves that EV designers don’t have to make their cars look like a Prius.
