Today I am looking at the Monster Turbine Mobile High Performance In-Ear Speakers with ControlTalk. These high-end earphones have a control on the cable for music phones and iPods. If you are looking for a good set of earphones and you have a big budget the Monster Turbine might be perfect. Read on for all for the details.
The Monster Turbine earphones have black chrome housing, sound isolating ear tips, and a cable that is designed to be tangle free. The cable inside uses the patented Magnetic FluxTube of Monster design. The headphone also have 24K gold plated contacts and more. The price for the Monster Turbine is $189.95.
The first thing I noted when I removed the Monster Turbine from the box is that they look really nice. They have a high-tech black chrome looking finish with a twisted design on the back of the earphones that looks like a jet turbine, hence the name. These earphones also have an inline control on one of the cables that will work with the iPhone.
I hooked the Monster Turbine to my iPhone and tested them out without any issues. The skinny and long 3.5mm headphone plug is thin enough to fit snugly into my iPhone even with a thin case installed on my phone. The ControlTalk cable has an inline mic for making and receiving calls on the iPhone. The mic works well and people can clearly hear you when you are on it. It picked up a bit of the outside sound, especially wind, but it worked well overall. The control has a center section that is a multifunction button with one click for pause play, two rapid clicks is forward, and three rapid clicks is backwards.
The volume buttons are on the end and you can use them to adjust volume for music and calls. The earphones are very lightweight and you hardly feel them when they are in your ears. The headphones ship with several sizes of alternate ear tips to fit you best for comfort and to block external sounds. The Monster Turbine does a decent job of blocking external sound. The headphones come with two carry cases with one being a leather look case and the other a squeeze to open cloth offering.
The thing that most of you really want to know is how the Monster Turbine sounded. These headphones have excellent Bass and I swear I could almost feel my teeth rattle on tracks with deep bass. They also have good mids and highs with overall balanced sound. The deep bass was a great thing though and if you want bass in your mobile tracks, movies, and games the Monster Turbine are a fantastic option.
The only thing that isn’t great about the Monster Turbine is the price, but you get what you pay for in the earphone market today. The Monster Turbine earphones sound great and will work with your music phone.
