iTech Unveils New EasyChat 814 Skype Headset

When it comes to chatting on your computer at home or in the office, Skype is generally the first thing people turn to. To be able to talk with Skype you need speakers and a mic, but if you want to do so privately, you need a good headset with a mic. iTech has announced that it has a new EasyChat 814 headset that is designed specifically for Skype.

This headset is sold only though Skype's online store and goes for about $37. The headset has a 3.5mm plug that connects to computers and many movie devices. The mic is inline and it comes with a USB adapter for connecting to your computer if needed. The 3.5mm headphone port will work with the iPad and the iPhone.

The headset is an over the ear design and the cups are padded for comfort. It also has a folding design for portability. “This unique headset is ideal for everyone who wants the convenience of using just one headset for all of their smartphone, portable music player and computer audio needs,” said Wendy Cho, managing director, i.Tech Dynamic Global Distribution Limited. “In addition, it features excellent digital audio performance for an enhanced multimedia experience, and it meets Skype’s strict quality standards, so users can enjoy clear Skype calls and conferences.”

My Take: This headset has no superb features and is basic in its design and operation. I think you can find other options that are less costly to do the same thing.
