OtterBox is one of the best known manufacturers of ultra-tough cases for smartphones and tablets. The Defender Case for the iPad 2 is a hotly-anticipated product for clumsy gadget-lovers around the world. While there is an email sign-up for notification about the new case, OtterBox has yet to announce a launch date.
But today, I4U has received an exclusive tip from a reliable source that the iPad 2 Defender Series case has just shipped out to "initial customers". A full-scale launch is set to follow in the near-to-immediate future. We've got no word yet on which retailers will receive the Defender case first, but it doesn't look like a proper release is more than a few days off at this point.
The OtterBox Defender for iPad 2 will cost $89.95 when it does hit stores.
