Jeff Bezos confirmed that there is an Amazontablet coming in an interview a couple days ago. On the same day a rumor appeared that Amazon is not only launching one tablet. It will be a whole family of Android devices, even including a smartphone.
BGR has gotten some additional details and the code-names of two Amazon tablets. The Amazon tablet Coyote will be based on the Tegra 2 platform as many of the current tablets including the Motorola Xoom. The Amazon Hollywood tablet will though adopt the still vague Nvidia Kal-El Quad-core Tegra (NVIDIA T30). Kal-El promises stunning performance increase and is supposed to be ready in Q4.
Besides the new iPhone 5 and a possible new iPad, the Amazon tablet(s) are going to be the hottest new product releases this year. The rumor mill for the Amazon Tablet has just started to digg up interesting information about what Amazon is up to. Until recently we only knew that Amazon is working on a tablet. Now it looks likely that there will be several devices.
As said before Amazon has the content eco-system and cloud services in place to effectively compete with Apple. Amazon also has collected tremendous experience with the Kindle device. I am pretty sure they know how to do a tablet right that can rattle the domination of the iPad.

About the Geek Mind
The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
