Toshiba has shown a Windows 7 Tablet at the CES. It looks like Toshiba has realized that a Windows 7 Tablet just does not make any sense. Digitimes reports that sources in the industry say that Toshiba removed the Windows 7 tablet from their roadmap.
Toshiba is coming out with a 10.1-inch Android Honeycomb tablet soon. It is already listed on Amazon. It makes sense for Toshiba to bet on Android until Microsoft is coming with Windows 8 for Tablets.
In the same report from Digitimes Toshiba is said to also cancel its Chromebook plans. Now that is I think a mistake. Apparently Toshiba got cold feet because of the failure of their actually very cool Android netbook. It maybe was ahead of its time, but it also was not marketed well. I actually saw it never featured in the United States.
I see a chance for Google to land a huge hit with the Chromebook. Samsung and Acer are in, Toshiba is I think missing out on this opportunity.
