Sex and Zen 3D: Extreme Ecstasy is marketed as the world's first 3D Erotic film and is a huge hit in Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. The costume drama bring soft porn to 3D screens. Looks like Porn is yet again help pioneer a new media technology. I could imagine that this movie would drive some solid 3D Blu-ray disc sales.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, China Lion will bring Sex and Zen 3D to North America. A release date is not set yet. China Lion aims at a wide release and is currently working with AMC in the US to bring this movie to a 3D cinema near you.
Sex and Zen 3D is an adaptation of the classic novel The Carnal Prayer Mat and shows the sexual adventures of a young Ming Dynasty Scholar, Wai Yangsheng. See also the official website.
